Our Chair
His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, and the Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network.
Our Founder
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV was the founder of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and the 49th hereditary Imam (Spiritual Leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.
Today, the Aga Khan Development Network embraces many facets and functions. But, if I were trying to sum up in a single word its central objective, I would focus on the word “opportunity”. For what the peoples of the developing world seek above all else is hope for a better future.
Our Partners
AKDN welcomes institutions and individuals throughout the world as partners in the design, implementation and funding of innovative development projects. We also work closely with local, state and national governments in each country in which we are active.
