In Afghanistan, we offer non-formal education programmes, often in remote villages. Programmes include tutorial assistance for primary and secondary school pupils in English, Maths and Science, Kankor (the local university entrance examination) practice, and internationally accredited ICT programmes and English programmes for students aged 16 and up. We also operate ECD centres, some of which have offered telephone support to parents during the Covid-19 closures.
The Aga Khan School in Osh, Kyrgyz Republic, caters for students in grades five to 11. It follows the Kyrgyz Republic State Curriculum, in English and Russian. Each year, the school provides professional development for teachers from government schools in Osh.

AKES runs the Aga Khan Lycée in Khorog, catering for students from pre-primary at Grade 0 (age six) to Grade 11. The Lycée follows the Tajik National State Curriculum, and the curriculum is offered in English, Tajik and Russian.
The Lycée also undertakes outreach to share knowledge beyond its own students. It offers learning support programmes to students at government schools, an annual summer camp, a youth leadership forum and professional development for teachers.
We have established three early childhood development (ECD) centres, one in Khorog Park, one at the Aga Khan Lycée and one in Ishkashim. They partner with government and community programmes, providing technical and training support to build teacher capacity and improve child outcomes.
