The Egyptian Center for Culture and Arts Makan was founded in 2002 to safeguard Egypt’s disappearing traditional music through documentation, performance and education. Over two decades, the Center has created an extensive archive of hundreds of audio-visual recordings, while hosting thousands of live concerts that showcase Egypt’s diverse musical heritage.
