She is originally from Bukhara, one of the great oasis cities of the historical Silk Road, and moved to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to study at the Uzbekistan State Conservatory, where she was a student of Shavkat Matyakubov. She works as a professional vocalist in Uzbekistan’s State Philharmonia Society, where her specialty is the performance of Uzbek traditional classical music maqom.
