Lisbon, Portugal, 6 September 2013 - As part of his visit to Portugal for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, the Aga Khan also held several meetings with a number of senior Portuguese officials. Together with His Eminence Manuel Clemente, the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon, the Aga Khan presided over the signing ceremony of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding between the Catholic University of Portugal and the Aga Khan University. His Excellency President Anibal Cavaco Silva of Portugal hosted a lunch in honour of the Aga Khan at the Presidential Palace, before presenting the 2013 Aga Khan Awards for Architecture in the beautiful setting of Lisbon’s São Jorge Castle.
