Canada, 18-25 November and 6 December 2008 - His Highness the Aga Khan, Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), inaugurated the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in the presence of the Prime Minister of Canada, Steven Harper. The Delegation will serve a representational role for the Imamat and its non-denominational, philanthropic development agencies, which constitute the AKDN.
