Frigoken Limited – a project company of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development – is the largest vegetable processor in East and Central Africa. In this video, produced by Global Compact Network Kenya as part of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Action series, Frigoken’s CEO Mr Karim Dostmohamed discusses the company's investment in all-round workplace wellness to advance corporate sustainability.
As a participating company of the United Nations Global Compact since February 2016, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the SDGs have become critical to Frigoken's business strategy. The company has made sustainability with a focus on workplace wellness a part of its DNA, resulting in women's empowerment to drive economic growth.
In the video, Mr Dostmohamed details why this move was a business imperative for Frigoken and why other Kenyan companies should follow suit.
