Health outcomes are defined by many factors. Amongst them, biological considerations have an obvious impact, but it is also imperative to understand gender-sensitive analyses of socioeconomic, political and environmental concerns. In addition, evidence shows that roles and relationships based on male and female status, gender identification, values and behaviours all influence the health outcomes of individuals and societies. On 25 November 2020, the Aga Khan University (AKU) hosted a webinar to explore these topics, bringing together female leaders who talked about their work, its impact on global health and its relationship to driving gender equity. Today, AKDN is releasing the webinar on its channels to help commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
