AKDN Pakistan Newsletter: Summer 2026 edition
Last Updated on: 21 September 2026
For more than a century, the Aga Khan Development Network has had the privilege of working alongside communities across Pakistan to improve quality of life and create opportunities for people to realise their full potential. At the heart of this journey are the people themselves – their resilience, ideas, leadership and sense of ownership, which continue to inspire meaningful and lasting change.
This edition brings together stories that reflect this spirit of partnership and possibility. From His Highness the Aga Khan’s official visit to Pakistan and Princess Zahra Aga Khan’s appointment as Pro-Chancellor of Aga Khan University, to the conservation of Lahore Fort’s iconic Picture Wall and HBL taking on the chairmanship of the SCO Interbank Consortium; from renewable energy transforming lives in coastal Sindh and climate-resilient communities taking shape in Gilgit-Baltistan, to efforts strengthening education, health care and meaningful dialogue across the country.
Behind each of these stories are people and partnerships that remind us that lasting progress is built together. We are deeply grateful to the communities, partners, supporters and institutions whose trust, commitment and collaboration make this work possible. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of Pakistan for its continued partnership and support.
We hope these stories of people, partnership and progress offer moments of inspiration and reflection, and provide a glimpse into the many ways in which communities across Pakistan are helping shape a more hopeful future.
