This President’s Review newsletter was produced by the Aga Khan University (AKU) for its global community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and partners. It reports on major developments across the University in 2025-26, including the installation of Princess Zahra Aga Khan as AKU’s first Pro-Chancellor and the graduation of more than 800 students, bringing the total number of AKU graduates to over 22,000.
The newsletter highlights a record year for research, with faculty publishing more than 1,800 scholarly papers, attracting over $100 million in research funding and receiving nearly 88,000 citations. It also covers significant achievements in health care and education, including World Health Organization recognition for AKU’s Clinical Trials Unit, new international accreditations and professional recognitions, the introduction of advanced cancer treatment technology in Kenya, and the expansion of medical and nursing training programmes.
Additional features include new international partnerships, the installation of 4.7 megawatts of solar power across AKU campuses, and the provision of scholarships or financial assistance to more than 70 percent of students.
