A residence for artists and artisans will appear in the old part of Tashkent

In the centre of old Tashken in Uzbekistan, restoration and reconstruction work is underway on the buildings of the future art residence for artists, artisans and masters of folk architecture. According to the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art, the project consists of a former madrasah and an abandoned kindergarten, where the frames of all buildings have already been erected, and finishing and restoration work is underway. "A team of specialists from the design concept bureau Studio KO (France) and the design company Werner Sobek Belgrade (Serbia) are working on the renovation of the madrasah. Experts from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture have been invited as restorers," reads a statement.
