Marco Almeida, the mayor of Sintra, met with representatives of the Aga Khan Development Network to strengthen collaboration in the development of the Adraga-Praia Grande Ecological Park, a strategic project for the environmental and cultural enhancement of the Sintra coastline. This park, spanning approximately 67 hectares between Praia Grande and Praia da Adraga, aims to recover and protect one of the country's most sensitive areas, rich in natural and historical heritage, including dinosaur footprints, palaeolithic sites, and geomonuments such as Calhau do Corvo. The goal is to create a sustainable and accessible public space that promotes biodiversity and environmental education. The project is being developed in partnership with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) among other partners. “This project is an investment in environmental preservation and quality of life, creating a free and accessible space that benefits Sintra and Portugal said the Mayor.
