Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan, in partnership with Bank Alfalah, has launched a rehabilitation programme to restore infrastructure and support flood-affected communities in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The initiative, implemented with the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, Focus Humanitarian Assistance and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, follows the August 2025 monsoon floods, which caused widespread damage through flash floods, debris flows and glacial lake outburst events. Chief Executive of AKF Pakistan Akhtar Iqbal said the programme aims to rebuild infrastructure and strengthen resilience against future climate shocks through improved preparedness and community support mechanisms.
