Aga Khan Foundation empowers women's groups in Dodoma

The Aga Khan Foundation in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in Tanzania through the Tuinuke Pamoja project has planned to spend Sh7 billion over a three-year period to contribute to the movement to achieve gender equality and empower women by empowering community groups in eight councils of Dodoma Region. Speaking recently at the launch of the Tuinuke Pamoja Project held in Kondoa District, Dodoma Region, the beneficiaries of the project said their lives have changed after being funded by the Aga Khan Foundation. "The Aga Khan Foundation Tanzania has provided us with funding which has helped us to start various projects including modern chicken farming and we plan to build a large modern shed with the capacity to house 2,000 chickens," said Treasurer of the Tujikomboe Makamaka women's group from Chemba district, Veronica Banari.
