The Aga Khan Foundation, through its Youth Empowerment Programme, donated apprenticeship equipment worth Shs 4 million targeting 13,000 young people in three counties in Kenya. The programme aims to bridge a linkage and opportunities between private sector businesses and Technicla Vocational Education Trainings( TVETs ) to enable youth achieve gainful employment. Through the programme, over 600 people are expected to benefit from the apprenticeship programme beginning in September. By June 2019, it is expected that more than 800 people will have benefited from the programme in Lamu and Garissa.
