The Aga Khan Hospital Dar es Salaam celebrated World Physiotherapy Day in style by offering free screening for low back pain (LBP) to a number of patients. Every year on 8 September, World Physiotherapy Day is celebrated globally to recognise the invaluable contributions of physiotherapists in improving health, enhancing mobility, and promoting well-being. The focus for this year’s day is LBP and the role of physiotherapy in its management and prevention. As the only Joint Commission International (JCIA) -accredited institution in the country, Aga Khan Hospital said it is committed to providing personalised, expert care to support recovery and promote pain-free living. “The hospital achieves this through educational programmes on self-care strategies, customised exercise programmes, and physiotherapy interventions such as manual therapy,” the hospital said in a statement.
