This April, the Aga Khan Museum celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing with The Moon: A Voyage Through Time. The exhibition, which runs until 18 August, explores the moon’s influence on faith, science and the arts across the Muslim world and beyond. A must-see highlight of the exhibition is contemporary British artist Luke Jerram’s giant sculpture, Moon. Spanning two floors of the museum, the internally illuminated orb features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. An accompanying sound composition by Dan Jones (a composer who has won a British Academy of Film and Television Arts award) adds to Moon’s otherworldly experience.
