Aga Khan University has teamed up with the Ministry of Health to advance, promote, and strengthen One Health governance for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) surveillance in Kenya and in the region. This initiative is part of the 2024 Microbiology Updates Conference organised by the Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa, and Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, bringing together national and international experts. The Conference aims to address critical gaps in surveillance of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. This will be achieved through various initiatives including capacity building, research, and strengthening surveillance systems to effectively combat AMR.
