The Agence Française de Développement (AFD), under its Minka Fund for Peace and Resilience, together with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), have officially signed the financing agreement for the implementation of the project entitled Protection, Learning and Care against Gender-Based Violence (PAZ). With a total investment of €6.3 million over four years, the project represents a significant commitment to promoting gender equality, strengthening protection systems and promoting inclusive education. The project will be implemented in Cabo Delgado province, specifically in the district of Montepuez, by AKF and its partners, namely Médicos com África - CUAMM and the GirlMove Mozambique Association. The PAZ project aims to strengthen the empowerment of adolescent girls, reducing gender inequalities through inclusive education and community-led prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV).
