The Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) has approved an upgrade of the distribution system of a powerhouse catering to the villages of Istach, Dizg, Khruzg, Mahting and Yukum in Upper Chitral. The project was approved through efforts of the former union council. AKRSP will provide 130 steel poles and 30,000 feet of cables along with equipment needed for the project. Wooden poles from the powerhouse in Yukum to Dizg have been replaced with steel ones through funds provided by former National Assembly member Shahzada Iftikharuddin in 2018. The new poles to be arranged by AKRSP will be installed by the local communities from Dizg to Istach.
