AKU Internal Audit Department wins prestigious award

The Aga Khan University (AKU) is proud to announce yet another significant achievement, this time by its Internal Audit Department (IAD). In a recent competition organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors – Kenya Chapter, aimed at recognising outstanding Internal Audit functions, AKU’s IAD stood out among a pool of competitive contenders. The competition, which drew participants from both public and private institutions across Kenya, sought to acknowledge Internal Audit departments that showed remarkable adherence to global standards, innovation, agility, and effective management of their operations. The Institute of Internal Auditors appointed a panel of independent judges, and among its strict requirements were the establishment of a strong quality assurance improvement programme (QAIP) and proof of external assessments.
