High Commissioner of Pakistan to Singapore Rabia Shafiq recently welcomed the inclusion of Aga Khan University Medical College (AKU-MC) in the Singapore Medical Council’s (SMC) list of approved overseas medical schools, following an official announcement by Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH). The recognition allows students and graduates of Aga Khan University Medical College to apply online for registration with the Singapore Medical Council and become eligible to practise medicine in Singapore, subject to meeting SMC’s regulatory and professional requirements. “The inclusion of Aga Khan University Medical College among SMC-approved institutions places it alongside a select group of globally respected medical schools. It is a testament to the quality of medical education in Pakistan and the trust placed in our graduates to meet Singapore’s high healthcare standards,” the High Commissioner stated.
