The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has once again been reaccredited by The Joint Commission International (JCI), a recognition that reaffirms its longstanding commitment to excellence in healthcare. This prestigious reaccreditation continues a legacy of quality and safety that began with AKUH’s first accreditation in 2006, when it became the first JCI-accredited hospital in Pakistan. JCI, an independent, not-for-profit organisation, is globally recognised as the gold seal of approval in healthcare. AKUH’s unbroken chain of JCI reaccreditations underscores its adherence to world-class standards in patient safety, quality care, and performance. AKUH and its Outreach Health Network have consistently raised the bar, not just meeting but exceeding the rigorous standards set by JCI. In 2015, AKUH, Karachi, became the first and only academic medical centre in Pakistan to receive JCI accreditation.
