The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, David Cosato Chumi (MP), congratulated Amin Mawji on his recent appointment as Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Diplomatic Representative to Tanzania. In his remarks, Chumi commended AKDN for its significant contributions to poverty alleviation, strengthening education, improving healthcare services, and preserving cultural heritage in both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. For his part, Mawji expressed his gratitude to the Government of Tanzania for its effective implementation of AKDN projects and pledged to continue strengthening this collaboration. He emphasised ongoing cooperation particularly in the fight against cancer in East Africa, climate change research, and environmental conservation in partnership with universities both within and outside the country, including institutions in Canada and Germany.
