In February, the Ismaili Imamat, the Aga Khan Development Network and the Aga Khan Foundation – institutions led by His Highness the Aga Khan – announced a donation of €1.5 million to support the reconstruction and revitalisation of the areas of the country most affected by the recent storms. The protocol agreement was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister, presided over by the President of the Republic. The agreement aims to establish a “collaborative framework to support the collective effort of reconstruction, recovery and transformation of territories affected by extreme weather events that led to the declaration of a state of emergency”. It aims to “mobilise resources for community-based projects with a direct impact on the territories, reinforcing a collaborative, transparent and results-oriented approach”.
