The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, Pakistan (AKAH-P) recently organised a session with academia in connection with this year’s International Shake-Out Day on 17 October, to raise awareness on how to stay safe during earthquakes. Teachers from the University of Chitral, local colleges and schools as well as education officers attended the session. Awareness sessions were also held for different stakeholders in the region. Leaders briefed participants about the significance of the drill, which is held simultaneously throughout the world, emphasizing the ‘drop, cover and hold-on’ techniques that one should adopt during an earthquake.
