The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) organised an awareness session and walk at Rural Health Centre Var, Pakistan to mark World Immunisation Week, underscoring the importance of vaccination in preventing life-threatening diseases. Prominent speakers Dr Agha Sagar Fazlani, Gulzar Khaskheli and Dr Sajid Shaikh addressed the seminar, highlighting the critical role of immunisation in protecting children and communities. They noted that awareness and access remain key challenges in rural areas. The event drew large participation from health facility staff, community notables, local residents and members of the press, who later joined the awareness walk. Speaking at the conclusion, Dr Sajid Shaikh thanked AKRSP for organising the initiative and acknowledged its continued efforts to promote public health awareness in underserved rural communities. The event ended with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to strengthen immunisation coverage and ensure a healthier future for all.
