The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) celebrated its continued success of over 30 years with their faculty, staff, children and their parents. Globally, 15 million babies are born too early every year. These babies have special needs and require special care which the multi-disciplinary team at AKUH’s NICU is fully equipped for. "The NICU at AKUH is a 24 bed state of the art facility where pre-mature babies from different provinces around Pakistan are transferred in for special care," said Dr. Ali Shabbir Hussain, Director of NICU at AKUH.
