India’s first sunken museum at Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi is set to be inaugurated soon. The inauguration is expected to align with the upcoming World Heritage Committee (WHC) session in New Delhi. The museum aims to showcase the heritage of the Nizamuddin area and features modern architecture inspired by Mughal-era craftsmanship. The sunken museum will feature galleries, seminar halls, a library, and more, drawing design inspiration from the medieval baolis of northern India. Situated at the entrance of the World Heritage Complex, the museum aims to connect the historical trio: Nizamuddin, Sunder Nursery, and the 16th-century Humayun's Tomb.
