President of Kenya William Ruto recently met with Prince Rahim Aga Khan in Dubai. During the meeting, the two discussed ways of deepening the cooperation between the public and private institutions. They also deliberated on ways of enhancing the contribution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Kenya and East Africa, as the talks largely centred around their long development partnership spanning over six decades. Kenya and AKDN have closely collaborated in the fields of industry, tourism, financial services, clean energy, media, health, education, community development, and infrastructure. Prince Rahim Aga Khan was accompanied by his close advisors Sultan Allana and Suleiman Shahabuddin. President Ruto thanked Prince Rahim for the significant contributions of the AKDN to Kenya’s development and offered his administration's support to further strengthen the collaboration.
