DTB contributes 250 million/- to facilitate international education for Tanzanian youth

Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has continued its commitment to empowering young people to access quality education by donating 250 million TSH through the Aga Khan Tanzania Education Scheme (AKES). This move will enable Tanzanian youth to study International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma courses and Diploma (DP) programmes. This financial support aimed at promoting critical thinking, ethical leadership, academic excellence and access to international opportunities was announced in Dar es Salaam during a handover ceremony. DTB Tanzania Director General, Ravneet Chowdhury, said the scholarship will benefit talented Tanzanian students, in particular those from disadvantaged families, by giving them the opportunity to study IB and DP at AKES Tanzania Secondary School for the next five years. "We are gathered to witness the signing of a partnership agreement between Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania and the Aga Khan Education Service for a five-year scholarship programme, which will directly inject 250 million TSH into the AKES scholarship fund for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program," he said.
