East Africa’s media scene is facing a shift due to technological advances and journalists must be equipped to deliver to their audiences. In order to thrive, media houses also need to adopt technology to remain relevant. The Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (AKU GSMC) recently convened journalists in Kampala to deliberate on Technology and the Changing World of Journalism. The discussion provided fresh insights on the challenges facing journalists in East Africa, the importance of a thriving media; and how technology can be instrumental in the practice of journalism.
