The University of Central Asia (UCA) is launching its first Master of Science (MSc) in Economics and Data Science programme. The two-year programme in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan combines economics, statistics, programming and data analysis. It is designed for both recent graduates and professionals who want to continue working during their studies. According to Professor Christopher Gerry, Rector of the University of Central Asia, the launch of the programme is associated with the region's need for a new generation of specialists: "The goal of the programme is to help form a new generation of specialists capable of solving complex economic and social problems facing Central Asia. Our task is not only to train specialists with strong technical knowledge, but also to develop professionals who can responsibly and effectively apply their knowledge in practice."
