During an online public awareness seminar held at the Dr Panjwani Centre of the University of Karachi entitled "Fever in Covid Pandemic", Dr. Bushra Jamil Ali, Professor at the Aga Khan University and President of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan, said: "Endemic infections must not be overlooked. Covid pandemic and endemic infections together may increase the number of patients requiring intensive care and mechanical ventilation. Diagnostic work-up before treatment is absolutely essential."
