The latest addition to King’s Cross is not another retail destination or technology hub, but rather a place for education, cultural exchange and insight into Muslim civilisations. Designed by Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki, the Aga Khan Centre offers new premises for cultural institutions, exhibition space and a library of rare books and manuscripts in a 10-storey, limestone-clad building that opens to the public next month.
