The groundbreaking ceremony of the First Micro Finance Bank Ltd (FMFB) regional headquarters building was held on 21 June in Gilgit, Pakistan. The building will be a state of the art green, LEED-certified environmentally friendly, structure in Gilgit Baltistan. It is scheduled to be completed in 2 years and will house a bank branch, bank offices, training development centre and regional offices. Speaking at the ceremony, Sultan Allana, FMFB’s founding chairman and current chairman of HBL, said this building represented a memento of gratitude for the valued contributions of the people of Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral towards the development of microfinance sector.
