Healthcare professionals and government officials discussed heat action plans developed for 20 cities of Sindh, Pakistan at a consultative meeting. The meeting was jointly organised by the Centre of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies (CETE) at Aga Khan University (AKU) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh. The event marked a milestone in the Heat Emergency Awareness and Treatment (HEAT) project, funded by a UK-based humanitarian funding body. “We are proud to have supported city administrations in building these action plans,” added Zaheer Chaand, Project Lead for AKU. “This is a locally driven, evidence-informed effort that puts climate adaptation in the hands of those closest to the communities,” he added.
