In a significant move to strengthen preparedness for rising temperatures, the Centre of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies (CETE) at Aga Khan University (AKU), in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh, last week hosted a City Heat Action Plan Consultative Meeting. “We are proud to have supported city administrations in building these action plans,” added project lead Mr Zaheer Chaand. “This is a locally driven, evidence-informed effort that puts climate adaptation in the hands of those closest to the communities.” The initiative showcases a replicable, city-led model of climate resilience, empowering local governments with the tools to protect lives amid growing climate extremes.
