The conservators of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), who are renovating the 16th-century Sabz Burj tomb with the Archaeological Survey of India, recently discovered hidden paintings in blue, yellow, red and white and some in gold on the ceiling of the tomb. The mission of renovating is a part of ‘Nizamuddin area Urban Renewal Initiative’.Sabz Burj is among the earliest Mughal buildings influenced by Timurid architecture and richly ornamented with intriguing plasterwork, ceramic tiles with geometric patterns, and decorative lattice stonework.
