In India, with increased pollution, loss of habitat, the world's most valuable species - the honey bee- is struggling. Fear from a lack of understanding further affects the wellbeing of the Asiatic Bee. The Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), India is working with the Columbia Global Centre, Mumbai and Golden Hive Foundation to enhance the public's understanding of bees, especially the honeybee variety at Sunder Nursery, Delhi's Heritage Park. At Sunder Nursery, AKTC is engaged in creating and nurturing bee habitats, introducing bees in through bee boxes and raising awareness on the importance of bees for a healthy ecosystem.
