On 22 April, Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr Thomas Kolly, formally inaugurated the 850 kilowatt hydel powerhouse in the Pavur village, situated 200 kilometres from the Chitral district headquarters. The powerhouse has been established through funds provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the supervision of the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP). Akhtar Iqbal, CEO of AKF, said the foundation was aware that provision of energy to people meant improvement in education, health and social uplift.
