IKEA announced its support for the Mendes Gonçalves Foundation's "Caring Network" project. This initiative, implemented in Golegã (Santarém District) and neighbouring municipalities, aims to strengthen the provision of care and education for children from 0-3 year, through a network of childminders working on a freelance basis. Within the scope of this partnership, IKEA contributes by providing "Support Kits for Nannies" to equip the homes of these professionals and ensure the necessary conditions for starting their business. These include equipment, furniture, toys, and safety accessories such as corner protectors and locks for cabinets. The training course, which is free of charge, was developed in collaboration between the Aga Khan Foundation Portugal, the Jerónimo Martins Foundation and the Santarém Employment and Vocational Training Center.
