Governments of Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Norway, in Partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), have inaugurated power transmission line into Ishkashim, Afghan Badakhshan. According to press release issued by AKDN Tajikistan, a newly-constructed power transmission line bringing electricity from Tajikistan to Afghanistan was inaugurated on May 2. The Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy), a project company of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), and the operator of the hydroelectric power plant, has now begun exporting surplus energy from the cross-border regions of Tajik Ishkashim into Afghan Ishkashim.
