Aga Khan University (AKU) has launched new websites for AKU, Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) and the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB). The new platforms reflect a shift in how institutions think about their digital presence. For many patients, students and parents, the website is no longer a brochure sitting behind a physical campus. It is the first place they meet the organisation, and often the place where they decide whether to trust it. In an interview with ProPakistani, Muhammad Fahd, Global Chief Information Officer at AKU, explained the thinking behind the rebuild. He spoke about presenting a diverse institution as one AKU, designing for a user base where 86% of visitors arrive on mobile, and keeping security and data privacy at the centre of every new feature. He also shared his views on how artificial intelligence and personalisation will shape the websites of the future, and what organisations in Pakistan should be doing now to stay competitive globally.
