The Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank (KICB) has provided USD 500,000 to support the development of Kyrgyzstan's first high-tech mountain hospital in the region of Naryn, Kyrgyzstan. The hospital will focus on cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment, featuring a modern catheterisation laboratory (CathLab), staff training with international experts, and the country’s first SafeCare certification programme aimed at raising the quality standards of medical servicesThe project is being implemented by agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local partners. According to Professor Talant Sooronbaev, Director of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy, the creation of a high-tech hospital in Naryn will be a "historic step toward equal access to medical care for residents of mountainous regions."
