Made in Rwanda is one of Government’s priorities launched in 2015 to tackle trade imbalance through encouraging more production and consumption of locally-manufactured goods. On the side of hospitality industry, Kigali Serena Hotel has been supporting this initiative to promote the expansion of enterprises promising to give a considerable contribution to Made in Rwanda. In 2018, Kigali Serena Hotel entered a partnership with Kigali Farmers' and Artisans' Market (KIGALIFAAM) founded and organised by Florence Mwashimba. The market is a platform bringing together farmers and artisans to maximize their reach to consumers. Under the partnership, Kigali Serena Hotel provide space for local farmers and artisans to showcase their products in the Farmers and Artisans Market held every first Saturday of the month at Serena Hotel.
