Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov, addressed the Third Global Forum Schools 2030 in Bishkek, organised with the active participation of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). The forum gathered more than 200 representatives of the education system from 25 countries and was held under the guiding theme, "Teacher Leadership for Climate Resilience: How to Transform Learning through School and System Pathways for the Future of the Planet." "We are obliged to equip the young generation with knowledge, skills, and values that will help them play an active part in building a sustainable and safe society. Kyrgyzstan is particularly vulnerable to climate change, which affects the economic and social stability of the country and the region as a whole. We realise that education plays a key role in the fight against climate change since children and youth will lead us to a better future of environmental sustainability. This is why it is important that education systems support children and young people in developing academic knowledge, skills, and values for adaptation and mitigation of climate change," the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov, said.
