The Kyrgyz Republic recently held a thematic event on sustainable mountain development on the sidelines of EXPO 2025 in Osaka (Japan). The event, organised with the support of representatives of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the University of Central Asia (UCA), and UN Food and Agricultural Organization, was attended by more than 90 people, including online participants. Kyrgyzstan also presented a report on sustainable mountain development and strengthening the capacity of mountain regions to overcome the consequences of climate change. The event featured presentations by Deo Raj Gurung - Senior Advisor, Climate Resilience and Mountain Science of the University of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan, Yutaka Matsuzawa, Senior Advisor to the Minister of the Environment of Japan and a host of other leaders.
