The Kyrgyz Republic continued its decade of events dedicated to International Mountain Day, celebrated annually on 11 December by resolution of the UN General Assembly. Events are being held under the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the implementation of President Sadyr Zhaparov's global initiative, the Five Years of Action for Mountain Regions (2023–2027). As part of these celebrations, an interschool quiz dedicated to International Mountain Day was held in Bishkek and organised by the University of Central Asia (UCA) with the support of the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event aimed to engage young people in the study of mountain ecosystems and develop ecological thinking.
