The Life in Kyrgyzstan Conference recently took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, marking its 10th anniversary as a premier platform for scholars, policymakers, and development practitioners worldwide. The conference facilitated discussions on key socio-economic and development challenges in the country and the broader Central Asian region. In his opening remarks, Professor Christopher Gerry, Rector of the University of Central Asia (UCA), emphasised the importance of research in shaping policy decisions for the region. "The Life in Kyrgyzstan survey has provided rich, comprehensive data on the social and economic lives of individuals, families, and communities across Kyrgyzstan. Over time, this survey has become an invaluable resource, offering deep and unique insights into the transformations, challenges, and opportunities faced by the people of this region," he stated.
